Scott Nelson pitched a no-hitter as the Phillies down the Rangers 10-0 in a Superior Babe Ruth League baseball game. He fanned three batters and walked two in the process. The Brewers edged the Giants 2-1 behind the pitching of Mitch Lindstrom, who fanned eight batters. Scott Polzin slashed a double to lead the winners at the plate. (1976)

The Superior State College baseball team used power at the plate to defeat the Duluth Air Base 11-4. Leading the 11-hit SSC attack, with two each, were Leon Long, Bob Palmer and Paul Byers. Credit for the pitching win went to Long, although he was relieved by Jerry Scrivner, who ended up needing some help from Jim Patritto to finish the game. (1960)
