Symphonic orchestra performs with winners
The University of Wisconsin-Superior Music Department holds its Orchestra with Concertos concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Thorpe Langley Auditorium in Old Main, 1710 Weeks Ave.
The concert features the UWS Symphonic Orchestra and the winners of the Orchestra Concerto Competition — Seth Harris, saxophone, and Maria Puglisi, soprano.
"The Concerto Competition Winners Concert is one of the highlight concerts of the orchestra season," said Dr. Erin Aldridge, professor of orchestra and violin at UWS. "We have two wonderfully talented soloists that will be exciting to hear. Also, this concert features our wonderful Symphony Orchestra performing a great orchestra repertoire."
Works include Ludwig van Beethoven's "Symphony No. 1" and works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Jacques Ibert and Camille Saint-Saens.
Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for seniors, and free for students. For information, call (715) 394-8115 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
