Duluth: Bring your antique or collectible item to the St. Louis County Heritage & Arts Center for a free appraisal noon to 3 p.m. Dan Sershon of Northland Estate Services and Denny Mager of Northern Specialty, experts in antique appraisal, will be at your service in the rotunda. Arrive no later than 2:30 p.m. to register in person. Limit two items.

Thursday

Hermantown: Minnesota Charms Quilt Show hosted by Creations Quilt Shop of Duluth, Quilted Dog Quilt Shop of Cloquet and Hingeley Road Quilting of Floodwood runs 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at AAD Shriners Event Center, 5152 Miller Trunk Highway. There will be vendors, speakers, demos, quilts on display, quilts for sale along with a sewing machine giveaway and tons of fun.

Duluth: Michele Hakala-Beeksma, vice president of the St. Louis County Historical Society's Board of Governors and a member of the Society's American Indian Advisory Committee, talks about "Understanding Chippewa 1854 Treaty Rights in Northeast Minnesota: 1854 to Present" during Lunch with the History People noon to 1 p.m. in the Ruth Maney Room at the Depot, 506 W. Michigan St.

Superior: The University of Wisconsin-Superior hosts the 16th annual UW-Superior Student Film and Video Showcase 7-9 p.m. in the Manion Theatre in Holden Fine and Applied Arts, 1805 Catlin Ave. Free.
