Library offers a 'melting pot' of activities
Come to Superior Public Library on June 27 at 6 p.m. for a free evening of music performed by local musician Tom O'Keefe. Tom has performed throughout the Twin Ports for many years, including appearances at Homegrown Music Festival and this year's Dylanfest. He'll perform your favorite songs on acoustic guitar. The Friends of the Library provides refreshments.
Join us at 2 p.m. June 28 for Family Game Day with Dungeon's End. The friendly staff from Dungeon's End will bring a variety of family-friendly board games to the library. Learn some new games and enter the prize drawing.
Northern Expressions Arts Collective visit the library at 11:30 a.m. July 1 for "The Great American Melting Pot," a free program for kids. We will work on a community art project and talk about where our families originally came from. Have your picture taken at the international photo booth (bring your own camera) and end with an all-American treat. Call (715) 394-8866 to register for this free event.
Come to the library at 2 p.m. July 5 for fun with science. Sharon Krause from 4-H leads a free activity where kids will build a roller coaster for marbles!
We'll be showing lots of free movies throughout the summer, including "Beauty and the Beast" at 11:30 a.m. July 8. This movie is rated PG. On July 10, join us for "The Zookeeper's Wife" at 6 p.m. This movie is rated PG-13. Light snacks available at all movies. Stay tuned for information about upcoming free movies at the library.
Join us July 11 for a free screening of the WDSE documentary "Lost Superior" and learn about the history of Superior. This wonderful film features interviews with local residents and historians and tells the story of our community from the very beginning. Following the movie, two producers from the film will answer questions from the audience. The movie starts at 6 p.m. with refreshments provided by the Friends of the Library.
Regular library programs will continue through the summer including Lego Club 6-8 p.m. every Monday and Children's Storytime at 10:30 a.m. every Tuesday. Our monthly library book club is held at 10:30 a.m. July 11 and features a spirited discussion of Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre.
The library is closed July 4 for the holiday. We will reopen at 9 a.m. July 5.
